How Much Do Movers Cost in South Florida? (2026 Moving Price Guide)
Updated October 2026 · By the All Out Rubbish crew
Moving quotes in South Florida swing wildly because some companies quote low and add fees later. Here is what a fair local move actually costs, what changes the price, and the questions to ask before you book.
Hourly crew rates
Local moves are usually billed by the hour. Expect about $95–$135 per hour for two movers and a truck, and $135–$175 per hour for three. Larger homes go faster with a third mover, which often lowers the total even though the hourly rate is higher.
Typical apartment and home moves
A local 2-bedroom move commonly lands around $550–$950 depending on stairs, elevators, distance, and how ready you are. Bigger homes are quoted hourly after we see photos or a quick walkthrough, so you are not paying for a padded flat price.
Packing and specialty items
Professional packing runs about $40–$60 per hour per packer; a full kitchen alone is often $200–$400. Safes run about $200–$600 and pool tables about $300–$550 because they need extra people, equipment, and care.
What drives the price up
Long carries from the parking area, condo elevator reservations, stairs, unpacked boxes on moving day, and items that must be taken apart. Having everything boxed and a parking spot reserved is the single easiest way to save money.

FAQs
Do you charge for travel time?
Ask any mover exactly how travel is billed before booking. We explain ours up front with the quote so there are no surprises.
Is renting a truck cheaper?
The truck rental is cheaper, but once you add fuel, dollies, pads, and your own time and risk, a two-person crew is often close in cost for small local moves.
Can you just load or unload?
Yes. Labor-only loading and unloading is available if you already have a truck or container.
