HOA Bulk-Trash Rules in South Florida: City-by-City Cheat Sheet
Updated June 2026 · By the All Out Rubbish crew
Every South Florida city handles bulk trash differently, and most HOAs add their own rules on top. Here's the actual schedule and item limits by city — pull this up before you drag anything to the curb.
Boynton Beach
Weekly vegetation pickup; bulk items by appointment via city solid-waste line. Items must be at the curb the night before, not earlier. No more than 6 cubic yards per pickup. Construction debris is NOT included — you must hire a hauler.
Delray Beach
Bulk pickup on your regular trash day, but you must call to schedule large items. Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic. Tires, paint, and electronics are excluded.
Boca Raton
Bulk pickup weekly; gated/HOA communities may have a private hauler with different rules — check with your property manager. No commercial-volume loads.
Wellington
Bi-weekly bulk service; HOAs out west often restrict curb placement to a specific 12-hour window. Construction debris and yard waste over 4 ft must be hauled privately.
Coral Springs / Coconut Creek / Parkland
Broward cities generally run weekly bulk with a 6-yard cap. HOAs in Parkland and Heron Bay typically require a Certificate of Insurance from any hauler entering the gate.
When to skip the city and hire a hauler
If you have more than 6 yards, any construction debris, refrigerated appliances, paint or chemicals, or items inside a garage/upstairs that aren't curbside-ready, the city won't take it. That's when a flat-rate hauler is cheaper than a code violation.

FAQs
Can my HOA fine me for early curb placement?
Yes — most HOAs in PBC and Broward have a 'no earlier than 6 PM the night before' rule and fines start at $50.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster?
If the dumpster sits in the street or right-of-way, yes. On your own driveway, usually no. Check with your city's building department.
