Car and marine batteries are taken free in Palm Beach and Broward County — we actually pay $5 to $12 each because lead has scrap value. Tires cannot be landfilled in Florida, so they carry a $5 each recycling fee, or $8 each still on the rim. Auto parts stores also take batteries free with a core credit.
